Company history

Outside view of SPIGA GmbH in Falkenau

From manufacturing shop to industrial leader

SPIGA GmbH was founded in 1993 as a family business in the small town of Flöha in Saxony. Since then, we have regularly invested in the expansion and modernization of our machine capacities. The steady growth of the company was ensured by acquiring very efficient, state-of-the-art textile machines. The result was one of the most advanced lace factories in Europe.

Today, SPIGA GmbH has 35 lace machines in its machine park. With an annual capacity of more than 200 tonnes of lace, SPIGA is one of the leading European companies in the industry today. In 1998, new production halls were erected and put into operation at today's company location in Falkenau. These new production areas created ideal conditions for increasing production and quality assurance. At present, 46 employees are employed with SPIGA. Since 1993, six young skilled workers have been trained and were able to learn the profession of a textile machine operator. In 2005, the sister company "Pressless" was established. This is where we produce innovative technical textiles. "SPIGA (Thailand) Co., Ltd." was then founded in 2006. This allows us to be even closer to our customers in Asia.
